What's the pH of 0.75M barium hydroxid? #Ba(OH)^2#

Ostensibly...#pH=14.2#

Explanation:

We know that #pH+pOH=14# in water under standard conditions...

And here #[HO^-]=1.50*mol*L^-1#...#pOH=-0.176#...#pH=14.18#

Of course, there is a catch...and the question does not reflect chemical reality. The data I have in my text suggest that we have a saturated solution when #[Ba(OH)_2]=0.27*mol*L^-1#...the data here are therefore unreasonable....and please alert your chem teacher to the unreality of the question....
