Pus cells are dead leucocytes .

Explanation:

Pus is caused by the build up of white blood cells ( leucocytes ) fighting an infection.

At the site of an infection, macrophages release cytokines which signal neutrophils (one of the categories of leucocytes) to fight the infection by targetting the invasive cell.

The neutrophils release granules to fight the infection while the bacteria release toxins to counter the attack. In the process, neutrophils die because of the toxins or because, after release of the granules, they cannot regenerate.
