Interphase is the time interval between mitosis cycles. There are actually 3 phases in interphase (and one specialized phase that occurs sometimes).
- G1. In this phase, the cell grows. It makes lots of proteins to increase the cell matter, and ribosomes, which make the proteins.
- S (Sythesis). In this phase, the cell copies it's DNA in preparation for mitosis.
- G2. In the third phase, the cell copies all of it's organelles and makes the final necessary proteins to prepare for division.
Then the cells goes into M, Mitosis.
