They industrialized India and ultimately caused the Sepoy rebellion.

Explanation:

They were the first British group to set down in India, and they started doing some stuff like gathering India's natural resources.

They started hiring native Indians to be soldiers and stuff, and later on, they used animal fat to help the guns from not randomly firing. However, the Indian hired soldiers had to peel it off with their teeth, which went against their religion, i.e. Muslim and Islam.

So that led to the Sepoy Rebellion, which was ultimately crushed by the Crown and then Queen Victoria (later pronounced the Empress of India) was like "Ha East India Company is bad, I run India now."
