It meant the victory of communism in Russia

Explanation:

The Russian Revolution led to a profound transformation which affected both the government and society. Indeed the government was no longer a hereditary one but a totalitarian one with a one-party system. The Communist party became the only legal party in Russia. Massive propaganda and censorship was one of the feature of the regime.

Russian society went from a feudal one to a socialistic one. The economy was collectivized. Private property was forbidden. Individual liberties were being repressed(though they had not been truly respected before either ). Massive deportations started for opponents. The USSR(Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics) was created in 1922 by Lenin.

Lenin is often pointed at as being more politicallly tolerant than Stalin though there is no argument proving this, he created the Soviet concentration system and took measures against freedom of speech. After his death in 1924, a political battle between Trotsky and Stalin and in the late twenties Stalin was finally victorious.

Stalin was only the heir of Stalin and only perpetuated his ideas and his system except regarding the NEP,the new economic policy which was half socialistic and half capitalistic and aimed at restoring prosperity and ending famine after the disaster of the revolution.
