# When will the newcomer restriction be lifted for a user?

## I have at my 10th active day in Socratic, but I still can't edit other people's answers. Do I have to wait until this day is over? Thanks.

That depends.

#### Explanation:

For starters, keep in mind that what you do during those $10$ activity days, i.e. the quality of your answers, is much more important than the fact that you accumulated $10$ activity days in your first month.

Now, let's say that you have accumulated $10$ activity days in your first month. Your block will be lifted depending on how you answer these questions

• Do you know how to use the math formatting to format your answers?
• Do you know that you must not post copied content?
• Do you know that you must not post one-word, one-sentence, or solution-only answers
• Do you know that you must provide original content in your answers and not just redirect students to other resources?
• Do you know that you must add sources for all the images that you take from other websites?
• Do you know that you must keep the number of questions you ask to $5$ or fewer per day, i.e. in a $24$-hour period?

If the answer to all these questions is 'yes', then I can go ahead and lift your block. Otherwise, you will remain on the watchlist until I'm sure that you check all these boxes.

Now, I think it's safe to say that you are ready to become a full member, so I think that I will lift your block later today--I'll send you a note when it's done.
