Russia followed closely by the Ottoman Empire. Serbia had the highest percentage per population.

The table has various breakdowns and I have used total deaths not just military deaths. Deaths in the various armies tended to be higher than civilian deaths in WW 1 which differed from WW2 in which civilian deaths were much higher than Military deaths. The deaths in the table show an amount for the influenza pandemic which was an important factor in overall deaths since it began during the War.

The Serbian deaths as a proportion of population is interesting showing the extent that the war affected this small country.
