Short Term exposure to stress causes many various changes to bodily functions.

As Cortisol and adrenaline are secreted into the bloodstream from activation of the Sympathetic Nervous System, certain bodily functions are adversely influenced when exposed to stress.

Effects of exposure to stress include;

  • Constant release secretion of adrenaline and cortisol (stress hormones), which can cause illness and other associated problems with long term exposure

  • Illness due to constant release of adrenaline and cortisol (stress hormones)

The constant secretion of stress hormones can cause disruption of sleep, cardiovascular illness and other stress related illness, as a result of long - term stress exposure.

I hope this helps!
