Cortes was a Spanish conquistador who conquered the Aztecs in what is now Mexico. With Smallpox as an ally he destroyed this early american civilization.

Setting out from Cuba with a small group of Spaniards with fire arms and horses, neither of which the locals had seen before, Cortes ruthlessly killed, kidnapped, and double-dealt his way though the Aztec forces.
Smallpox was endemic through the European continent at the time but unknown in the Americas. Aztecs were sickened and died in large numbers including key leaders. They were unable to resist the small number of Spaniards and their native allies.
