The Seljuk Turks.

Explanation:

The second crusade was actually two separate armies. The German army was led by King Conrad. While the French army was led by King Louis. Perhaps because both armies were led by Kings of rival countries there was no coordination between the two armies.

The lack of coordination allowed the Seljuk Turks to concentrate their forces one army at time. Each army was destroyed by the Turks while still in Turkey. Neither army ever reached Jerusalem to reinforce the Crusaders in the Holy Land.

The Second Crusade was a clear victory for the Seljuk Turks. The First Crusade had been a huge defeat for the Seljuk Turks, this was the Turks pay back.
