Who won the war of 1812, Canada or the U.S?

I have two history teachers. One is Canadian, the other American. The Canadian teacher says Canada won the war of 1812, while the American says that the U.S. won instead.

Who is right? Or was there a subtle "tie" between two countries?

It's weird that two teachers say opposites but I know, learned and think that is was a draw.

Explanation:

The United States had two objectives in the war of 1812.They achieved one, but they did not achieve the other one,so the war ended as a draw.

The Duke of Wellington was asked his opinion when he was invited to join in at the time and he said it was a draw. .

Explanation:

The Peace Agreement basically of "status quo ante" was a return to how it was before. The Treaty of Ghent was signed December 24, 1814. Oddly both sides felt a renewal of spirit after the war. The Native Americans lost big and Britain never again supported the Native Americans against the USA again.
