Why did many people oppose the U.S. invasion of Iraq?

Remembering from the time the rhetoric was unbelievable. The case for attacking Afghanistan was much better.

Explanation:

I live in Canada and many ordinary people got their families together and demonstrated a city hall against the call to go into Iraq. This kind of thing doesn't normally happen here. The Conservative Government who had supported the Afghanistan War didn't support the Iraq War. The Logic of the WMDs and the evidence wasn't convincing to ordinary people let alone governments.

It felt wrong to many people.
