Why is glucose soluble in water but cyclohexane is not?
The main reason is that the former contains an -OH group whereas the latter does not.
In case of Glucose due to the presence of oxygen, it contains five
-OH groups which facilitates bonding with water (-H) extensively.
:- They are soluble in water.
Cyclohexane are not containing the -OH group hence not able to bond with -H ion.Hence they are not soluble in water.
