To get Socratic to display a rational exponent, enclose the exponent in parentheses...


To write a rational exponent, enclose the rational number in parentheses.

Without hashtags: x^(3/2)

With hashtags: #x^(3/2)#

Sometimes we want a number or expression in the superscript position before normal text instead of after it. To do that, use an empty literal string "" like this:

Without hashtags: ""^12C_6

With hashtags: #""^12C_6#
