That's how I am used to write integration by parts:
#int u(x)v'(x)dx = int u(x) d(v(x)) = u(x)v(x) - int v(x) d(u(x)) = u(x)v(x) - int v(x) u'(x)dx#
Basically:
#d(u(x)) = u'(x) dx#
that is the same notation as:
#(du)/dx = u'(x)#
