28 A girl is long-sighted. Which statement is correct? A She sees close objects less clearly than a person with normal vision. B She sees distant objects more clearly than a person with normal vision.
A) She sees close objects less clearly than a person with normal vision.
This is because she will either have an eyeball which is too short, or a lens that is too flat/ not curved enough meaning that light from a close object (which will be diverging from a point) is not refracted enough and it will converge to a point behind the retina rather than on it. This means the image is not focused.
For a distant object, the light rays are almost parallel so the light doesn't have to be as refracted enough and even with a less curved lens, she will still be able to focus the light onto her retina to see clearly.
Hope this helped; let me know if I can do anything else:)
