If you want to calculate `f(k)=\frac{N}{2(2k+1)}` for `k=1`, then you need to substitute, and you have `f(1)=\frac{N}{2(2+1)}=\frac{N}{6}`.

If your function was `f(k)=\frac{N}{2} (2k+1)`, then (again by substitution) you have `f(1)=\frac{N}{2} (3)=\frac{3N}{2}`
