By rewriting the square-root as the 1/2-power,

#f(x)=5sqrt{x}+8cos x=5x^{1/2}+8cosx#

The general antiderivative #F(x)# of #f(x)# can be found by

#F(x)=int (5x^{1/2}+8cos x) dx#

#=5 {x^{3/2}}/{3/2}+8sin x+C#

#=10/3x^{3/2}+8sin x+C#

I hope that this was helpful.
