Yes, the 10% rule would still be in effect. The ten percent rule refers to the fact that a consumer is able to store only about 10% of the energy contained in the food organism it eats. It has no bearing on when the prey organism last ate. The other 90% of energy ingested is used to fuel life processes, such as cellular respiration, protein synthesis, reproduction, and other metabolic activities, and released as heat.
