In log tables you only find numbers with just one digit before the decimal point. They go from 1.0000 to 9.9999.

So you have to convert `0.072`

You may write `0.072=7.2*1/100=7.2*10^-2`

Now you can find the `log 7.2`

Since the `log 10^-2=-2`
(this goes for any power of 10)

You can add the logs (as multiplication is adding of the logs)

So your answer will be `(log7.2)-2`

The same goes for large numbers:
If you want to find the log of `72000` remember that
`72000=7.2*10000=7.2*10^4`

And the answer will be `(log7.2)+4`
