I think you're actually referring to glyceryl-trinitrate, which is another name used for nytroglycerin.

Nytroglycerin, which has the molecular formula `C_3H_5N_3O_9`, is obtained by nitrating glycerol, `C_3H_8O_3`, with white fuming nitric acid, a liquid oxidizer that consists of almost pure nitic acid, `HNO_3`.
