Who came up with the plum pudding model of the atom?
JJ Thomson invented the plum pudding model of the atom.
He stated that logically, since negative electrons are attracted to positive matter, that the nucleus would be a blob-like positive mass with electrons scattered throughout it.
However, this is incorrect and was later changed, because we now know that atoms are not formatted in this way. The electrons can not all be in the nucleus together because they will repel each other.
