Explanation:

One just uses the Pythagoras Theorem of a right angle triangle.

The distance from origin to the endpoint is the hypotenuse ($x$), so you just square the two values given, which is the base and upright of the triangle, add them together and square root it. That will be your answer.

${15}^{2}$ + ${20}^{2}$ = ${x}^{2}$
225 + 400 = ${x}^{2}$
625 = ${x}^{2}$
$\sqrt{625}$ = $x$
25m = $x$

The direction from origin is just the East value and North value combined, thus final answer is 25m NE.
