Is the green color of plants due to the chlorophyll reflecting green light?

The green color is due to the chlorophyll in the cells of photosynthetic organisms. It does indeed appear green because it reflects green light, which is how we know that it is photosynthetic. So even though photosynthetic organisms do not use green light for photosynthesis, they appear green because the pigment chlorophyll reflects green light.
