We set #z=x+yi# and substitute to the equation given.Hence we have that

#abs(x+yi-2)+abs(x+yi+2)=6=>sqrt((x-2)^2+y^2)+sqrt((x+2)^2+y^2)=6#

After some calcuations we get that

#9y^2+5x^2=45=>y^2/5+x^2/9=1#

It is an ecclipse.
