Mg is coordinating ion in chlorophyll molecule.

Explanation:

Chlorophyll molecule has 2 main parts; porphyrin ring and phytol.
Porphyrin ring contains 4 nitrogen rings which are attached by Mg ion. And the phytol is long hydrocarbon ring.
