Explanation:
In its earliest days astronomy was simply the study of the heavens. But as our knowledge has grown, astronomers have taken on specialties. One group will study just black holes, another with study various types of stars, another star formation, another the big bang, another the expansion of the universe, another dark matter & energy, and so on. Astronomy is an extremely highly specialized field of study these days for the simple fact that the more we discover the more we have to look at the intricacies of those discoveries.
