# What is the volume of 150.0*"gallons" in "litres"?

Feb 12, 2016

Here, I assume that the $\text{gallon}$ $=$ $4.800 \cdot L$

#### Explanation:

So to the calculation:

(150.0cancel" gallons" xx 4.8*cancelL*cancel("gallon"^-1))/(25.0xx10^-3*cancelL) = ??

I get a large dimensionless number.

I have used an Imperial gallon here (equivalent to $8$ $\text{pints}$, $4800$ $m L$). A US gallon (= $3.785$ $L$) will of course give a different result. I don't know which gallon you are using, and this is a good illustration of the inutility of NON SI units.
