during stratigraphic succession interpretation, it is necessary to keep in mid the basics i.e. erosion and deposition. if the fault is on the folded beds it could mean that the beds were folded first then fault occured which means the fault is younger as there was deposition first then the disturbance i.e. folding then the faulting.
