Many are possible. "Best" just depends on what information is most useful.


"Isolines" are connections of similar value on a map - also called "contours". They are commonly used to show elevations, temperatures, and atmospheric pressure.

They can show a trained person 3-D characteristics from a 2-D map, such as mountain shapes or weather fronts.
