The Mongols were a combination of Central Asian tribes that conquered the world.

Explanation:

The Mongols were a collection of nomadic tribes in central Asia what is now Mongolia. These tribes were engaged in consistent warfare against each other.

In the 1200s a leader Genghis Khan united the tribes into one nation. Rather than fighting each other the Mongols set out to conquer the world.

Every man in the nation was a trained and experienced warrior. Genghis Khan used the mobility of the horse culture and powerful recurved bows to create a war machine that over came all opposition. Terror was also part of his strategy. If a city surrendered they became part of his empire paying tribute. If a city resisted every person in the city was killed and a pile of skulls created to cast fear into those who would oppose him.

The Mongols conquered an area greater than any other empire in history. Their empire extended from China to India covering parts of Europe, the Middle East and most of Asia.

This vast empire lasted only about 100 years. However desendents of the Mongols ruled India until the 1800s when they were conquered by the British.
