One idea - lack of reproduction and spread of species.

Explanation:

Some plants rely on broadcast spawning (releasing sperm and egg into the air) in order to reproduce. While they may still be able to reproduce if they happen to land on each other, this would mean the next generation plant is rooted in the same location as the reproducing plant. There would be no spread of species.
