Will hydrochloric acid oxidize the aluminum foil we use in the kitchen?

My word...............

Explanation:

Tinfoil is aluminium foil:

$A l \left(s\right) + 3 H C l \left(a q\right) \rightarrow A l C {l}_{3} \left(a q\right) + \frac{3}{2} {H}_{2} \left(g\right) \uparrow$

Note that a lot of modern aluminum foils have some sort of dressing on the sheets; sometimes you can wipe this off, but when you do the reaction, often you notice the reaction occurs at a cut surface.

Of course you have not specified the concentration of the acid.
