The hydrosphere is intimately connected to the atmosphere.

Explanation:

The atmosphere is the medium of transport for half of the hydrosphere water cycle. Without the evaporation of water into then atmosphere, transport by winds and precipitation in other regions we would not have rain, snow, and many rivers.

The atmosphere is essential for transport of water over open land, and the recycling of water from the oceans to the water tables, lakes and rivers.
