It is known as a truncated octahedron, and it was synthesized by reacting equimolar amounts of $\text{Cu"("NO"_3)_2cdot2.5"H"_2"O}$ and $\text{H"_2"TTDC}$ at ${85}^{\circ} \text{C}$ for 24 hours in a mixture of 2-methyl-1-pyrrolidinone ($\text{NMP}$) and N,N-dimethylacetamide ($\text{DMA}$).

The building blocks were "Cu"_2("CO"_2)_4 and the linking units were cis,cis-terthiophene. Ignoring terminal ligands, the overall diameter was $\text{27 Å}$. The diameter of the $8$ triangular apertures are $\text{9.0 Å}$.

The structure is stable up to ${200}^{\circ} \text{C}$ without housing any guests. Each molecule has been able to adsorb around $\text{337 mg/g}$ of ${\text{N}}_{2}$ molecules (57 ${\text{N}}_{2}$ molecules).
