It is known as a truncated octahedron, and it was synthesized by reacting equimolar amounts of `"Cu"("NO"_3)_2cdot2.5"H"_2"O"` and `"H"_2"TTDC"` at `85^@ "C"` for 24 hours in a mixture of 2-methyl-1-pyrrolidinone (`"NMP"`) and N,N-dimethylacetamide (`"DMA"`).

The structure is stable up to `200^@ "C"` without housing any guests. Each molecule has been able to adsorb around `"337 mg/g"` of `"N"_2` molecules (57 `"N"_2` molecules).
