# How do plants get sugar?

Plants get sugar from dark reaction of Photosynthesis. Then they use this sugar in cellular respiration and release $C {O}_{2}$, water and energy.
Dark reactions take place in the stroma of chloroplast. These reactions can occur in the presence or absence of light provided the assimilatory power in the form of $A T P$ and $N A D P H$ which are produced during light reactions. Energy of these compounds is used inthe formation of sugar(carbohydrates) from $C {O}_{2}$.
