Surgery

Explanation:

Even after 8 months your metatarsals hurt, you should go back to an orthopaedic surgeon to take an X-ray of your foot to see how they are healing. If the orthopaedist judges that you should have surgery by putting metal rods in your metatarsals or by placing prosthetic bone(I doubt it but depending on the severity of your fracture) you should decide whether to do it or not. I am not a doctor so I cannot really say whether you should or shouldn't do it but in my opinion, surgery is always the best option for a fracture( despite the fact that I have never broken a bone but this is from other people's judgements). The pain will go away in the long run but for the first few weeks after surgery you will have to be on pain meds and you will have intense physiotherapy.

I hope you find this useful.
