$\frac{7}{12}$ butter is need for 16 cookies

#### Explanation:

$16$ is $\frac{1}{3}$ of $48$. So then, the recipe for $16$ cookies would be $\frac{1}{3}$ of the recipe for $48$ cookies. The amount of butter we need $\frac{1}{3}$ of the butter for $48$ cookies.

$\frac{1}{3}$$\times$$1$$\frac{3}{4}$=?# (Equation)

$=$$\frac{1}{3}$$\times$$\frac{7}{4}$ (Changed the mixed fraction to an improper fraction.)

$=$$\frac{7}{12}$ (Multiplied and solved!)

The amount of butter Howie and Steve need for $16$ cookies is $\frac{7}{12}$! Though you didn't tell me the measure like $1$$\frac{3}{4}$ of a cup or something, make sure that you add of something to the $\frac{7}{12}$! And by something, I mean a cup or something like that.

I don't really have any sources to list because I just used my mind. I hope you understand the explanation!
