# Question #08146

(a) ${\text{CaBr}}_{2}$
In general, the stronger the intermolecular forces between molecules, the higher their melting (and boiling) point. Since ionic bonds (ion-ion intermolecular force) are much stronger than the other forces, we'd expect ${\text{CaBr}}_{2}$ to have the highest melting point, since it's the only compound with ion-ion forces (ionic bonding).
