Making and operating a large desalination plant is costly and Operating it also needs fuel/energy..Sa;lt is a highly corrosive chemical.We need Titanium made parts and energy(Fuel or electric power) required to,operate it..Many middle east countries operate them regularly as they have no alternate source of drinking water.
THe plant discharges highly concentrated brine into sea.It is also environ,mental problem.
