There can't be a #C=C# double bond

Explanation:

The definition of an alkene states that it must have a carbon-carbon double bond, but if n=1, there is only one carbon, so there can't be a double bond between two carbons.
Alternatively, you can think of it like this: the general formula for an alkene is #C_nH_{2n}#, which would mean when n=1 the alkene would be a carbon with 2 hydrogens attached. We know carbons must make 4 bonds, so it's not possible.

So by definition their molecules must contain at least 2 carbon atoms....N=1, clearly suggests just 1 carbon atom.
