No but China felt threatened by the United Nations forces lead by the United States forces conquering North Korea and being so close to China's border.

Explanation:

The communistic North Korea had invaded South Korea in an attempt to unify the Pennisula under Communistic control and influence.

The United Nations had achieved a surprise amphibious landing behind the North Korean lines effectively destroying the North Korean army. Essentially unopposed the United Nation forces drove into North Korea to the border with China.

The conquest of North Korea would have created a hostile western orientated Korea on the border of China. The United Nations in the 1950's recognized government on Twain as the legitimate government of all of China. The United States had supported the Nationalistic government during the Civil war against the Communists in China. Having United States troops on China's border supported by a hostile United Nations threatened China.

In response the Chinese army launched a surprise invasion of North Korea. In bitter fighting the Chinese army drove the United Nations forces back to the original border between North and South Korea. China then stopped its offensive against the United Nation and US forces. This created a cease fire that persists even today. The Korean War did not officially ever end.

China did not support North Korea's ambitions to conquer South Korea but did not feel that China could tolerate the South Koreans supported by America controlling all of Korea up to their own borders.

America did not attack China in the Korean War but did threaten China by the presence of America forces on the border of North Korea and China. China did attack American and United Nations forces in the defense of their allies North Korea.
