The Marshall plan helped rebuild European cities and programs like the GI bill and low cost home loans stimulated prosperity at home.

Explanation:

The United States provided over 130 billion dollars(in today's money) in free grant moneys to the nations of Europe to help rebuild their economies after world war II. The European nations were able to rebuild their factories and put their people back to work using this money. The Marshall Plan that provided these funds helped to prevent the kind of depression that occurred after World War I. The economic depression and harsh treatment of Germany and Austria was one of the main causes of World W aar II.

At home the factories that had produced the tanks, planes, and ships for the American war effort, were turned into producing cars, trucks and homes. The America economy was in high gear due to the war. Europe became a huge market for American manufactured goods as the European economies started to rebuild after the war.

Programs instituted by President Eisenhower further stimulated the economy. Millions of soldiers completed college and advanced training using the GI bill become more productive. FHA and Gi loans made homes affordable for the Middle Class, strengthening both the middle class and the economy. The interstate highway projects linked the states together, stimulating trade throughout the US.

The 1950's were a good time for the US economy due to the programs started after the war. The transfer of war time production to domestic production was a boon to the American economy. Unselfishly the US shared this wealth to the European nations through the Marshall Plan. ( Sadly the countries under Russia soviet control were not allow to participate in the Marshall plan by order of the communist party.
