Early this month, August 2017, we passed the day when humans had used up a full year's resources on earth. That means we are already using up resources we need for next year. And every year the day moves forward on the calendar by a full day. These resources provide us with our shelter, food, water, and other needs. Wasting resources will mean our days of enjoying the bounties of earth are becoming shorter.
