Both Na and K play a very important role as electrolytes inside the human body.

Explanation:

Sodium is a mineral which attracts water. If someone has a high sodium content diet, that person's kidneys will have more difficulty in removing water from the body because the water remained in the bloodstream, attached to the sodium. The result is a higher blood pressure due to the extra fluid and extra strain on the delicate blood vessels leading to the kidneys.

Potassium is a mineral that our bodies need to stay healthy. Eating foods with potassium is important in controlling blood pressure because potassium blunts the effects of sodium. The more potassium we eat, the more sodium we pass out of the body through urine. Potassium also helps relax blood vessel walls, which helps lower blood pressure.
