Answer is YES. Both testes and ovary are gonads. Gonads act as both endocrine (ductless) and exocrine glands:-- hence called mixed glands.

Explanation:

Gonad produces gametes which are released by gonoduct.

  • Testes releases sperms through vasa efferentia and vas deferens.
  • Ovary releases ova through fallopian duct/oviduct.

Gonad releases hormones directly in blood.

  • Testes releases testosterone.

  • Ovary releases oestrogen and progesterone.
