  • Corpora quadrigemina is an important part of mammalian midbrain.
  • It is located on the dorsal side of brain, generally completely covered by the much larger cerebral hemispheres.

  • As the name suggests, corpora quadrigemina has four lobes: a pair of superior coliculi and another pair of inferior colliculi.
  • These colliculi are reflex centres involving vision and hearing.
