- Corpora quadrigemina is an important part of mammalian midbrain.
- It is located on the dorsal side of brain, generally completely covered by the much larger cerebral hemispheres.
- As the name suggests, corpora quadrigemina has four lobes: a pair of superior coliculi and another pair of inferior colliculi.
- These colliculi are reflex centres involving vision and hearing.
