Which gland is called master gland of body? What is its function?

1 Answer

The pituitary gland is the master gland of the body

The pituitary gland is located just below the hypothalamus of the brain (in the depression called sella turcica, of sphenoid bone). It is mainly divided into three lobes: Anterior, Posterior and intermediate. Each lobe produces different hormones.

The number of hormones and their function is very large as pituitary gland controls every organ of the body. Hence watching the video below will be more interesting than me writing down every bit of information I have.Cheers!!
