Jupiter is a gas giant, meaning it is primarily composed of thick gases. As one gets closer to the center it is likely there is a metallic hydrogen ocean and eventually rocky core. This hydrogen changes state due to compression not dropping temperature. It is thought that the rocky core of Jupiter is hotter than 35,000 degrees.

If someone tried to "stand" on Jupiter, they would start sinking into the atmosphere. The more you sank the higher the pressure would become until the pressure would be so high the force of it would overcome gravity and you would then be suspended at that point.

So you can imagine, a search for life on Jupiter would be pointless, however there are many moons of Jupiter that are thought could support life.
