# Question 172c4

Nov 8, 2017

#### Explanation:

rewriting the equation
$2 y - 3 x = 10$
the equation is of type ax + by =c
a coefficient of x
b coefficient of y
for two equations to be parallel
$\frac{a}{a '}$ $=$ $\frac{b}{b '}$ ≠ $\frac{c}{c '}$
so the coefficients of equation we require $a = - 3$ , $y = 2$

so,
$2 y - 3 x$= $c$
put $y = - 5$
$x = 2$
2×(-5)-3×2#$=$$c$
$- 10 - 6 = c$
$c = - 16$
so the equation becomes
$2 y + 16 = 3 x$
hope it helps !
